Implementation of the Strategic Training Executive Programme (STEP 2.0) in Cambodia

The crucial need for strong leaders and managers in immunisation supply chain in Cambodia!

In recent years, multiple unexpected events have disrupted health and immunisation supply chains around the world, revealing the vulnerability of health systems in LMICs.

A performant supply chain is a critical part of the health system to ensure that quality medicines and healthcare products are available when and where they are needed. However, while leadership skills are recognised as critical to supply chain performance, the leaders and managers of immunisation supply chain in Cambodia are not sufficiently supported to strengthen these crucial capacities. Consequently, leading change, innovation, and continuous improvements in immunisation supply chain is very difficult.

STEP 2.0 – Reinforcing leadership in the supply chain to cope with changes and uncertainty

The jointly coordinated Strategic Training Executive Programme (STEP 2.0) is a professional development tool meticulously crafted to meet the specific needs of health supply chain leaders and managers. It seamlessly combines several essential components:

  1. Self Learning:
    • Participants engage with comprehensive modules at their own pace, allowing them to absorb essential concepts and frameworks while accommodating their professional demands.
  2. In-Person Learning:
    • STEP 2.0 brings health supply chain leaders and managers together in face-to-face workshop sessions facilitated by seasoned experts, fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and practical skill-building.
  3. Action Learning:
    • STEP 2.0 encourages participants to implement their newfound knowledge directly within their supply chain roles, guiding participants to identify supply chain challenges and resolve them.
  4. Coaching Support:
    • STEP 2.0 excels by pairing public-sector supply chain leaders and managers (the participants) with private-sector supply chain experts (the coaches). This public-private partnership bridges the gap between theory and practice, offering participants personalised guidance, industry best practices, and strategic insights.
