Responsibility
Mojtaba Haghgou is a Senior Immunization Specialist with over 35 years of experience working on immunization supply chains in low and middle income countries. Since 1982, he has been working mainly with WHO, UNICEF and government bodies in the areas of vaccine management and logistics and cold chains.
Past Experience
He has senior expertise in Effective Vaccine Management (EVM), and he conducted six EVM assessments and supported the development of national continuous Improvement Plans (cIP) in Asia, Europe, and Africa.
Mojtaba also has senior expertise in Vaccination Supplies Stock Management – VSSM and web VSSM (wVSSM) – and supported 23 countries from the Philippines to Honduras. In 2015, he developed a specific WHO tool for the temperature mapping of cold and freezer rooms.
In January 2017, he participated as an independent pre-reviewer of countries’ applications to the GAVI Cold Chain Equipment Optimization Platform (CCEOP).
Mojtaba has extensive experience in facilitating training seminars as well as providing technical assistance to countries.
Education
He holds two Master’s degrees: one in Applied Psychology from the University of Aston (UK), and one in Thermal Power Engineering from the Imperial College of Science, Technology, and Medicine at the University of London (UK). In addition, he has a Diploma in Financing Health Care in Developing Countries from Boston University Medical School (USA).
