Having operated primarily out of Hanoi, Vietnam since 2013, GaneshAID is a consultancy firm that serves the public health sector with non-profit purposes. The company specializes in health system strengthening, public health supply chains, capacity building and learning, and digital health solutions. GaneshAID operates as a think-tank and aims to improve the health status and well-being of the people in Low- and Middle-income countries in Asia Pacific, Africa, and the Middle East.     Job title: Chief Finance Officer

    Staff Supervision: Accounting Department

    Function

    As a member of the Executive team of GaneshAID, the CFO is responsible for GaneshAID’s financial strategy and the management of its financial resources. Operations Manager She/he manages the financial actions and accounting of GaneshAID, the finance and accounting oversees the financial actions of GaneshAID. and project management aspects of the organization, as well as its operational efficiency and policy development. The CFOOperations Manager has direct authority over:

    1. Financial Planning: creating and executing financial strategies, including budgeting, forecasting, and managing financial resources.
    2. Financial Reporting: ensuring accurate and transparent financial reporting, often overseeing the accounting, auditing, and financial analysis functions.
    3. Capital Management: managing capital structure, evaluating investment opportunities, and deciding on financing options such as debt or equity.
    4. Risk Management: managing financial risk, including identifying and mitigating financial risks that GaneshAID may face.
    5. Compliance and Regulations: ensuring GaneshAID complies with financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards.

    Key Activities

    FINANCE

    • Perform cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.
    • Perform cash, investment, and asset management.
    • Develop financing strategies and activities, as well as banking relationships.
    • Develop and utilize forward-looking, predictive models and financial analyses to provide insight into the GaneshAID’s operations and business plans.

    PLANNING

    • Coordinate the development and monitoring of budgets.
    • Develop financial business plans and forecasts.
    • Participate in GaneshAID’s policy development as a member of the senior management team.
    • Review the current structure and process of managing financial flows and data.
    • Re-align the structure of GaneshAID’s accounting data and its flow based on GaneshAID evolving business model(s).
    • Develop short, medium and long-term financial plans and projections.
    • Remain up to date on for profit and nonprofit audit best practices and laws regarding for profit and nonprofit operations.

    ACCOUNTING AND ADMINISTRATION

    • Ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and functions;
    • Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures;
    • Ensure timeliness, accuracy and usefulness of financial and management reporting for the relevant governments;
    • Prepare and communicate monthly – annual financial statements;
    • Coordinate audits and proper filing of tax returns;
    • Ensure deal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions.

    OTHERS

    • Any other tasks requested by the CEO.

    Qualifications, competencies and experience

    • At least a Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Commerce, Finance or Accounting, or other closely related degrees; a Master’s Degree in relevant fields is preferrable;
    • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in financial management and accounting, including at least 01 years experience as CFO or equivalent in a busy organization or office setting in an administrative/operations management position;
    • Significant experience in a senior financial-management role, working with executive staff, resulting in the development of solid financial management strategies;
    • Experience working with finance and accounting software compliant with Vietnam laws and regulations;
    • Experience in managing staff teams (e.g. administration and finance department of a midsized NGO or comparable organisation);
    • Experience in strategic planning. Demonstrable experience of budget preparation and management;
    • Demonstrated ability to work in multi-cultural environment and/or multi-locational settings using a collaborative approach.

    Knowledge, skills and attributes: 

    • Highest commitment to the vision, mission and goals of GaneshAID;
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Vietnamese.
    • Demonstrated leadership ability, team management and interpersonal skills;
    • Proficiency in French is a plus;
    • Excellent communication skills, teamwork ethic, ability to give clear and precise instructions and information to colleagues;
    • Confident in senior level decision-making, with an ability to identify risks and issues, conduct applicable analysis, identify and weigh solutions, as well as the ability to implement new approaches and problem solve in complex, time-sensitive matters;
    • Excellent organisational and leadership abilities, and time management skills;
    • Knowledge of financial management processes and/or NGO governance an advantage.
    • Ability to work in both a leadership and support role simultaneously;

    What we offer

    • Two-month probation with 100% of net salary;
    • One-year contract with potential extension based on the working performance;
