Managed by People that Deliver (PtD), Strategic Training Executive Programme (STEP 2.0) is jointly offered by Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance; the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (the Global Fund); the United States Agency for International Development (USAID); and IFPW Foundation, the charitable arm of the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Wholesalers (IFPW). By uniting to offer STEP 2.0, Gavi, the Global Fund and USAID will increase supply chain efficiency and improve health outcomes for many in lower- and middle-income countries struggling to access medicines or other health commodities.

The programme empowers decision makers to lead their teams through complex supply chain (SC) challenges to increase efficiency and improve access to health commodities. STEP 2.0 centres on the transformation challenge, through which a private-sector SCM expert (the coach) works with a public-sector SC manager (the participant) to address a SC challenge faced by the participant and their organisation.

Since 2021, STEP 2.0 has been delivered in five African countries (Côte d’ivoire, DRC, Ethiopia, Uganda and Zambia). In Southeast Asia, STEP 2.0 Cambodia is among the first country implementations with GaneshAID as the implementing partner. Expected participants of STEP 2.0 Cambodia are from a mix of public and private stakeholders with critical impact on healthcare such as: the Ministry of Health & other government bodies, NGOs, institutions, Private pharmacies/Pharma companies, key public & private hospitals and key clinics.

STEP 2.0 is structured in three phases:

  • Phase I: STEP 2.0 Program Preparation (1 months) – March 2024
  • Phase II: In-person leadership training (5 days) – 01 to 05 April 2024 in Siem Reap
  • Phase III: Transformation challenge (4 months) – April to July 2024
